Every 7900-series Cisco IP Phone within the labs and offices support the ability to Join multiple callers. Typically the normal Cisco phones are best suited for 1-to-1 conversations. For those needing to support larger sized groups we recommend you sign-out the Cisco Teleconference Phone from MSL reception.

- Note! This is only a phone and not a teleconferencing service. You need to have your own teleconferencing account already setup with either Telus Teleconferencing or another 3rd-party provider.
Telus Telephone Conferencing on Demand
The teleconferencing system allows our users to create large ad-hoc or operator attended teleconferences. Access to the TELUS teleconferencing bridge is available through local and international toll-free numbers.
Scheduling a Telefone Conference
To schedule a web conference on demand requires a Telus account. We have setup accounts for some but not all of the individual MSL labs. Ask your lab manager for account details. If your lab does not have a Telus account and you are a MSL/CHiBi person please contact Pal Bains, the MSL Departmental Voice Administrator, to request a TELUS account. Telus Web conferencing on Demand
UBC IT has partnered with Telus to provide web conferencing on demand. Web conferencing on demand offers cost effective, real time collaboration for geographically dispersed teams. Participants can share and annotate documents, make presentations and whiteboard ideas.

Skype is a great platform for video conferencing using your laptop / desktop. It supports Windows, Mac, and Linux. With a free basic account you can video chat and share your desktop with any other skype user. Using just the free account you can do a one to one video conference nicely.

Vidyo Compute Canada (Westgrid.ca)
Vidyo is an easy-to-use HD quality videoconferencing technology that is available for many different platforms and devices. WestGrid has purchased a Vidyo Portal and Gateway and is using it for video collaboration between desktops (Windows, Mac, Linux), devices (IOS, Android) and h.323 systems. Vidyo accounts are available to researchers upon request to support their research collaboration needs.
