Dr. Leonard Foster awarded $3.4 million through CFI Innovation Fund

Dr. Leonard Foster has received $3.4 million in funding through the Canada Foundation for Innovation’s (CFI) Innovation Fund. This newest round of funding will “provide researchers with the high-impact equipment they need to strengthen Canada’s innovation capacity, deliver lasting benefits for Canadians and build economic resilience.”
This announcement highlights an investment by the Government of Canada, through the Innovation Fund, of more than $552 million across 92 research infrastructure projects. 14 of these projects are UBC-led, and received a total of $50.6 million in funding. UBC researchers are also collaborating and co-leading another five projects led by other institutions.
