William & Dorothy Gilbert Graduate Scholarship in Biomedical Sciences
The William and Dorothy Gilbert Scholarship in the Biomedical Sciences was established in 1995 by a generous donation from Drs. Terrance Snutch and Mary Gilbert to recognize exceptional accomplishments of doctoral students supervised by core faculty members of the Michael Smith Laboratories. Up to two awards per year will be offered; the amount of the awards varies somewhat from year to year, but is typically about $1,500 CAD. A call for nominations is distributed to MSL core faculty members and graduate students each year in early January. Nominations close at the end of February and nominees are notified by the end of March as to whether or not their nomination was successful.
The deadline for this year's nominations is February 27, 2015. This year, one or two scholarships will be awarded and each carrries a value of $2,550 CAD. An email with the nomination form has been circulated to all MSL personnels. Please note that only doctoral students supervised by MSL Core Faculty are eligible and the nomination must come from the supervisor.
