Synthetic Genomes Workshop

This workshop will immediately follow Jef Boeke’s 3:00 to 4:00pm seminar on “Synthetic Genomics” and will involve close interaction with the speaker, so you will have to attend his seminar starting at 3:00pm.  The workshop will involve a lively discussion of issues surrounding the design and synthesis of synthetic genomes.  The workshop group will include 25 registered students, Dr. Boeke, as well as several UBC faculty including Phil Hieter, Vivien Measday and Rob Holt.  There will be refreshments and social interaction during and after the discussions.  Several papers and a list of thought questions will be distributed to the group in advance of the workshop for contemplation.
