Dr. Peter Zandstra receives project funding from the Stem Cell Network

Dr. Peter Zandstra

Three research projects lead or co-investigated by Dr. Peter Zandstra (MSL, School of Biomedical Engineering) have been awarded a total of $702,000 from the Stem Cell Network. This round of funding supports regenerative medicine research projects and clinical trials that cover 14 different disease areas and illnesses. Dr. Zandstra’s research projects will explore a range of innovative stem cell applications that will contribute to the field of regenerative medicine and help lead to new, impactful therapies in the future.

A total of $33 million was awarded to Canadian research teams in this funding competition, which includes $2.8 million for projects involving UBC researchers.
