Partial Analog Phone Service Interruption December 10, 2017 06:37 onwards

Approximately 100 analog phone services at UBC Vancouver are currently unavailable. Technicians have been dispatched to investigate the issue on site.

Please note that this does not affect services at the UBC hospital.

Load Balancer Maintenance – December 10, 2017 08:00 – 12:00 PT

UBC IT will be performing maintenance on the load balancing systems during the above mentioned window. No service interruptions are expected.

UBC Vancouver VoIP Service Interruption December 8, 2017 03:00 – 03:15 PT RESOLVED

On December 8, 2017 between approximately 03:00 and 03:15 PT, there was a 15 minute service interruption affecting the UBC Vancouver VoIP service. This outage was related to scheduled maintenance and was unexpected. The issue was identified right away and resolved as quickly as possible. Analog phone services at the UBC Hospital would not have been affected by this issue.

UBC Vancouver VoIP Service Maintenance December 8, 2017 20:00 – December 9, 2017 20:00 PT

The UBC Vancouver VoIP service will be undergoing maintenance between December 8, 2017 20:00 and December 9, 2017 20:00 PT. During this window, service on WiTel devices may be unavailable. Some VoIP phone sets may automatically restart during this window but calls in progress will not be interrupted.

VDI Maintenance December 7, 2017 18:00 – 22:00 PT

UBC IT Desktop and Systems Infrastructure teams will be performing maintenance operations to the VDI system.

Please log out of your VDI session ahead of the maintenance window identified above.

Buchanan Building Networks Upgrade October 16, 2017 19:00 – 20:00 PT

October 11, 2017 - 8:30pm

Network maintenance is being performed on Buchanan Block E and Tower network to facilitate upgrades as part of the Network Switch Replacement Program. During this service window on Monday, October 16, 2017 19:00 – 20:00 PT, all wired network services will be sporadic, as the network services are migrated, and the connectivity is verified.

UBC Learning Exchange network maintenance, Oct 18 2017 00:00 – 05:00 PT

Shaw will be performing maintenance on the UBC Learning Exchange network circuit. There may be an outage of up to five hours.

UCMS – Windows – Upgrade – Oct 20, 2017 19:00 – Oct 21, 2017 06:00 PT

The University Computer Management System Windows services will be undergoing maintenance. All services including Software Centre are expected to be down from Oct 20, 2017 19:00 and will be back up by Oct 21, 2017 06:00 PT

UCMS-OSX Upgrade Oct 9, 2017 07:00 – 09:00 PT

October 7, 2017 - 8:30pm

JAMF Pro will be receiving a minor upgrade from v9.99 to v9.101.0. During this outage window, JAMF Pro admins will be unable to connect to the JAMF Pro admin interface. No impact on client machines is expected.

Voice Service Maintenance October 5, 2017 06:30 – 07:30 PT

A voice service maintenance window is scheduled between 06:30 and 07:30 PT on October 5, 2017. During this maintenance window we will re-order the Shaw trunking to enable redundant backup service. No service impact is expected as a result of this change.

Update – Intermittent FASMail Connectivity – 3 October 2017 15:00 PM

The following message is being shared with the campus community with regards to the FASMail connectivity issues that some users may have experienced this past week.

After reviewing the data logs from last night and this morning, the Email team noted a significant drop in the number of connectivity issues for campus users. This came as a direct result of implementing a number of changes recommended by our Microsoft Partner in the last several days. While there have been fewer connectivity issues reported on campus, we continue to ask users who experience any additional or new FASMail issues to submit a ticket to the IT Service Centre. IT teams will continue to monitor any occurrences and all IT teams involved with this incident will reconvene for an incident de-brief next week. Thank you for your patience on this matter while we tried to pinpoint the exact cause of this issue. And thank you to the IT@UBC community for the additional support they provided within their departments in helping us identify possible causes.

AccessUBC and Sponsored Guest Maintenance October 4, 2017 10:00 – 20:00 PT

AccessUBC and Sponsored Guest web application will be undergoing maintenance.

There will be no service interruption for users for the duration of the maintenance with the exception of 18:00 to 20:00 PT to which a web application restart is required. This interruption can be resolved by re-login to the web service.
